International Accounting

In a three or four-semester academic course the IAT- programme provides in-depth and practice oriented specialist’s knowledge in International Management, Finance, Accounting (Rechnungslegung und Controlling) and national and international taxation. Moreover the programme expands students’ knowledge in international (business) law and enhances their negotiation skills in Business English or another foreign language. This specialisation is complemented by workshops in companies, a big business case simulation at the end of the programme and a six-month industrial placement (only in the four-semester programme).

The three-semester programme addresses Bachelor-graduate in business studies who have completed a seven-semester bachelor-programme (210 ECTS-credits). The four-semester programme is addressed to bachelor-graduates who have completed a six-semester bachelor-programme (180 ECTS credits). The four-semester programme also caters to the desire of many international students who wish to complete a six-month industrial placement during their master studies.

The master programme International Accounting and Taxation provides students with a comprehensive qualification and education which will enable them to act confidently and responsibly as consultants and/or managers. Therefore language courses, ethical and intercultural contents are important study contents and great importance is attached to having a significant percentage of international students as daily partners in communication. The feedback we are receiving from our graduates and their employers is very positive: they tell us that they were well prepared for the start and that their employers took notice of the qualifications they had acquired in the master programme.
